Import Revolut statements into bexio with importly
importly recognizes Revolut statements automatically – both from a Revolut Business account and from a personal account. The two exports differ in structure; importly picks the right format on its own.
Which files importly reads from Revolut
| File | Description |
|---|---|
| Revolut Business CSV | The transaction export from a business account |
| Revolut CSV | The transaction export from a personal account |
Step 1: Download the statement from Revolut
- Log in to Revolut, in the app or via web access.
- Open the account whose transactions you want to post.
- Choose the export function for the account statement and CSV as the format.
- Set the desired period and download the file.
If you hold several currencies, export one file per currency.
Step 2: Import the file into importly
- Open the entries table in importly.
- Drag the CSV file anywhere onto the page. The import opens automatically.
- importly shows you the detected format – Revolut Business (CSV) or Revolut (CSV).
- Select your bank account from the chart of accounts.
- Check the preview and click Import.

Revolut personal
| Column in the statement | Field in importly |
|---|---|
| Completed Date | Date |
| Started Date | not imported |
| Description | Description |
| Amount | Amount with sign |
| Currency | Currency |
| Fee | Fee |
| Balance | not imported |
The sign is resolved into debit and credit: when money comes in, your bank account is in Debit; when money goes out, in Credit. importly leaves the contra account empty.
For the Business export, importly deliberately uses the Total amount column and not Amount – only the total amount including the fee moves the account balance. Older exports without this column are still read via Amount.
Revolut uses a comma as the column separator and a dot as the decimal separator – unlike most Swiss banks. importly takes this into account automatically.
Only completed entries
Revolut also lists transactions in the export that are not yet completed. importly only imports rows with the status COMPLETED – pending or declined entries are left out. Your imported row count can therefore be smaller than the row count of the file.
Adjusting document number and description
The two pattern fields in the import window let you decide what ends up in the description and document number. For the Business export, Reference is a natural choice as the document number; if it is missing, ID is a unique alternative.
If something doesn’t work
importly doesn’t recognize the format Check that you downloaded the CSV file and not the PDF. If the file is correct and still nothing is recognized, you can send it to us directly from the import window.
Rows are missing compared to the file That is usually intentional: only completed entries are imported. Check the State column in the file.
The amounts don’t match the account balance For the Business export, Total amount is authoritative, not Amount. If your file only contains Amount, the fees are missing – post them separately.
Rows are missing An import can contain at most 5,000 rows.
